Measuring Information

1. How to Measure Your Height:
Remove your shoes and stand erect with your back against a wall. Place a flat, rigid object(ruler, or book) level on top of your head and mark that point on the wall. Then measure from that point down to the floor, now you have your height. Follow the standards below on what length suit to order.

5’4” to 5’7” = Short
5’7 ½” to 5’11” = Regular
5’11 ½” to 6’2 ½” = Long
6’3” + Up = Extra Long

2. To Measure Chest:
Raise your arms out to the side. Have someone draw a measuring tape around your chest right at the nipple line. With the measuring tape in place put your arms back down (the tape should still be under your arms). Let the tap sit snug but not tight (do not pull or tighten tape) This is your chest measurement.

3. To Measure Waist:
Your waist measurement is the size pants you usually purchase at the store. You can measure wherever you usually where your pants to get an exact measurement as well.

4. To Measure Seat or Hips (Optional):
Keep your legs together and measure all the way around the widest part of your hips.

5. To Measure Inseam:
Measure the inside of the leg, from the bottom of the ankle to the top of the leg, where the leg and groin meet.

6. To Measure Sleeve:
Put your arms straight down at your sides. Have someone start at the nape of your neck, then pull the measuring tape over the your shoulder. Hold the tape here, and draw it down to the wrist (you should be making an upside down L shape) this is your sleeve measurement.

TUXEDO JACKET:

Most men looking to buy a tuxedo fit in to one of three simple categories below:

1)You already have a suit or sport coat that fits, and you can use the size from that.
Tuxedo sizes are the exact same as suit sizes, So whatever size you wear in a suit, or blazer, will be your tuxedo size. If you have a suit or sport coat that fits already you just have to find the size, which is usually located on a tag in one of the interior pockets, or on a tag on the seem that runs down the side of the jacket. Tuxedo pants work the same way. Find a pair of dress or suit slacks that you already own that fit, and find the size.

2) You don't own a sport coat or suit to get measurements off of. But you live in a city with a tailor shop.
If you are not confident in measuring yourself, you can do a quick search on Google or your favorite search engine for a local tailor, they usually offer measuring services for free of charge or a very small nominal fee.

3) You don't have a jacket that fits, you aren't in a city with a tailor shop.

TROUSERS:

If you have a pair of dress pants, then you know your size. Any slacks, khakis, dress pants, or chinos will be sized the same way as tuxedo pants. If you've been roaming around in nothing but basketball shorts for your adult life, then have someone measure you around the narrowest part of your waist. And that is your pant size.

SHIRTS:

Shirts have 2 measurements. The neck and the sleeve. To measure your neck measure around your adams apple. The measure you're sleeve, start at the nape of the neck, and measure to the shoulder, then measure straight down to your wrist with your hands at your side. So a size would be like 16.5 34/35 (this means 16.5 inch neck size, and a sleeve length of either 34" or 35:)

VESTS:

To determine what vest size you should choose, see chart below. Tall sizing choices have an additional 2" in length to accommodate a longer torso.

For example, suppose you wear a 50 coat, but your waist size is a 48. With a 50 coat, you would think that an X-Large (48 - 50) vest would be fine, but since your waist is 48 ... you would actually do better going with a 2X-Large (52 - 54) vest to accommodate your waist. Even though the vest will be large in your chest area, you can then have your tailor "taper" the vest in the chest area. Here's another example: Suppose you wear a 44R coat but only have a 34 inch waist. In this case, you would go with the Large (43 - 46) vest even though your waist range calls for a Medium. You would then take your vest to a tailor and have them "taper" the vest in the waist area. Remember: it's your tailor who can create perfection.

Boys Backless Vests:
"Boys Small" = 3 - 6 Coat Size
"Boys Medium" = 7 - 12 Coat Size
"Boys Large" = 14 - 18 Coat Size

CUMMERBUNDS:

Cummerbunds come completely adjustable. Standard will fit a waist of 27 - 50. "Jumbo" will fit waist sizes 50 - 60. (NOTE: Jumbo cummerbund sets are only available in "black.")

SHOES:

Shoe Size = Most of our shoe styles fit "true to size". The only exceptions would be "The Selector by After Six", "The Deco by Claiborne", or the "Crocodile by Sevasto Italiano". The Selector and Deco shoes run a little large; if you do decide to go in either of these styles, you should consider going with a 1/2 size smaller than what you normally wear. The Crocodile by Sevasto Italiano runs small, so you should consider going with a 1/2 size larger than what you would normally wear.
